With this Covid epidemic slowly waning as people become vaccinated, we now welcome all WWOOFers who are vaccinated to apply to come WWOOF with us this year.
It is through the curiosity of Dr. Jennifer Anne Doudna, an American biochemist known for her pioneering work in CRISPR gene editing, for which she was awarded the 2020 Nobel Prize in Chemistry and her like, that genetic engineering has been able to mass produce the various vaccines now available.
She was curious about how huge bacteria could defend themselves against tiny viruses. She found that some bacteria could actually change the gene structure of their attacking viruses,—-and thus learned how humans could do likewise.

There are a few definitions of the acronym WWOOF. World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms, Willing Workers On Organic Farms, both accurate. This organization is fantastic. It provides a much needed introduction and exchange between peoples, those that want to learn by doing and giving and those that can teach by example and give an opportunity to others to experience different ways of doing things.
We have had many wonderful WWOOFers visit over the last five years. We hope we have helped them learn something for themselves and something about what we do.
